Ted and I traveled South to Lexington, Virginia. My parents had visited there this past November for their anniversary and really enjoyed it. Ted's parents visited there and got in a wreck. But, we figured we'd give it a shot. We really enjoyed walking around downtown. It is a cute town with all kinds of shops, boutiques, and cafes. Ted really enjoyed exploring Washington and Lee's campus, and driving around VMI's campus.
We planned to camp that night about a half hour away from Lexington. We stopped for groceries and found a cool used book store that sold adolescent lit books for 85 cents each and other books for $1.25. We got a few DVDs for less than a dollar each! Very cool!
Camping started out great! The park was beautiful, we had a pretty nice campsite. We set up camp and made a yummy chicken stew on the propane camp stove. We played a good game of SkipBo. About 7 it started to sprinkle. We packed up most of our stuff, and took shelter in the tent. We tried to watch a movie on Ted's laptop, but the rain was too loud. We wanted to play cards, but it was too dark! Then, rain drops started hitting me on my head! Through the TENT! At that point we made a plan to pack up and head home! We cleared out the trunk, put almost everything in the back set. We crumpled up our tent and shoved it in the trunk and headed home. We were home by 10pm. And thus, the tale of out 5 hour camping trip! We're planning on buying a tarp-shelter thing, and eventually, a new tent to handle the sprinkling weather! We certainly were jealous of the people with camp trailers!

Oh, no! Leaking tents. It's bad enough that everything gets kinda damp from the humidity when it's raining, but rain "IN" the tent is a definite NO-NO. Wish I was there to take pictures of the mad dash to leave. I bet it was hilarious!
Is this a new tent? Have you ever sealed the seams? We've had this happen to us before. Not any fun at all. There's some type of spray you can spray the tent with to. My bet is the seams though!
